The Sheikh Zayed Book Award announces the longlists for three branches

Abu Dhabi, December 17 / WAM / The Sheikh Zayed Book Award at the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center announced today the long lists for the branches of “Translation”, “Critical Arts and Studies”, and “Development and State Building”, in its nineteenth session for the year 2024-2025.

The jury continues to review and evaluate the works qualified for shortlist selection, which is the stage that precedes the announcement of the winners of this cycle of the award.

The long list of the “Translation” branch included 19 titles from 12 countries: Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Mali, Syria, Morocco, Algeria, Iraq, Egypt, Palestine and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the books in it were translated to and from the Arabic language in four languages: German, English, Spanish, and French.

The long list for the “Arts and Critical Studies” branch also included 13 titles, from six countries: Morocco, Iraq, Egypt, Tunisia, Palestine, and Syria.

The long list for the “Development and State Building” branch included eight titles, from six countries: Syria, Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Sheikh Zayed Book Award is awarded for creative and qualitative literary works, in various fields such as literature, humanities, arts, and the Arabic language, and contributes to moving the wheel of translation by motivating translators to produce qualitative literary works related to Arab culture and civilization, and building bridges of civilized dialogue between peoples and nations, based on tolerance. Coexistence and peace.
