Congo: 25 people killed and dozens missing after a boat capsized

At least 25 people were killed and dozens are missing after a boat carrying them capsized in central Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo authorities announced in a statement today that the boat was carrying more than 100 passengers after it left the town of Enongo, northeast of the capital, Kinshasa, and capsized after traveling hundreds of meters on the Vimy River.
She indicated that the authorities are still searching for missing persons.

On the other hand, health authorities in Congo confirmed that 1,225 deaths have been recorded due to the monkeypox virus since the beginning of this year.
The Congolese Ministry of Health stated that 53,860 suspected cases of infection with the virus have been recorded, including 11,984 confirmed cases and 1,225 deaths, since the beginning of this year.
