The continued occupation of the Golan violates international law

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock warned of the continued presence of the Israeli occupation army in the Golan Heights, stressing that the occupation of the Golan Heights is a violation of international law.
This comes after the occupation army entered the buffer zone with Syria in the Golan following the fall of the Syrian regime led by Bashar al-Assad.

Rebuilding in Syria

The German Foreign Minister called for the involvement of all groups of people in the reconstruction process in Syria after the fall of the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
During a session to discuss the current situation in the German Parliament, Baerbock stressed on Wednesday the need to take into account the rights of all ethnic and religious groups in order to achieve a peaceful transition.

At the same time, Birbock warned against obstructing the Syrian dialogue process from outside.
The politician, who belongs to the Green Party, said: “If we want peace in the region, the territorial integrity of Syria should not be questioned.”

Discussing the return of Syrian refugees

Development Minister Svenja Schulze warned against rushing to discuss the return of Syrian refugees to their country.
The politician, who belongs to Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s Social Democratic Party, said: “Syria is still a completely destroyed country, and the security situation there is not clear at all.”
She pointed to the widespread spread of malnutrition, in addition to the presence of more than 7 million displaced people inside Syria.

The first plane takes off

On Wednesday, the first Syrian plane since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime took off from Damascus airport to Aleppo.
The director of Damascus International Airport in Syria, Anis Falouh, announced the return of work at the airport on Wednesday, according to what the opposition-affiliated Syria TV reported on Sunday.
Falouh mentioned earlier that all cadres are working in an integrated manner and with great cooperation to restore the situation to what it is at the airport, indicating that the final stages of operating the airport are nearing the end.
In turn, the Director of the Port of Tartous, Engineer Thaer Wannous, stated that the Port of Tartous will resume its work and activity.

The largest airport in Syria

Damascus International Airport is the largest in the country.
In November 2023, Damascus International Airport was out of service as a result of an Israeli bombing, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported at the time.
