He returns to acting and producing…Bollywood star Aamir Khan is retiring

Indian actor Aamir Khan retracted his decision to retire from cinema, which he announced during the spread of the Corona pandemic.

The Bollywood star intends to continue his artistic career, which began in the 1970s.

Khan told AFP during an interview in London that a few years ago he went through a period of self-reflection.

He added: “It was during the Covid crisis, and I was thinking about a lot of things, and I realized that I had spent my entire life in this magical world of cinema since I became an adult.”

Continue acting and producing

Aamir Khan has made a large number of films that have achieved wide commercial success in India, including “3 Idiots,” “Dangal,” and “Taare Zameen Par.”
He is also famous for producing and starring in the film “Lagaan”, which was among the works nominated for the Academy Award for Foreign Film in 2002.

Khan continued: “I realized that I did not give my personal life the importance I wanted.”

He continued: “I had difficulty overcoming the feeling that I had wasted a lot of time, and I felt a lot of guilt, and my first reaction was to say that I had had enough of cinema.”

But his family members, especially his son and daughter, convinced him not to retire, and he said, “I was saying that I would stop, but then I did not do so.”

Now, as he approaches his 60th birthday next March, Aamir Khan, who lives in Mumbai, wants to continue acting and producing for some time.

Encouraging new talents

The Indian star also intends to make his production company Aamir Khan Productions a platform to encourage new talents whose sensibilities are close to his own and who “want to tell stories” that matter to him.

A number of Aamir Khan’s films deal with social issues, such as women’s rights in rural areas, the sports industry, excessive pressure in higher education, or the rights of people with disabilities.

But Khan refuses to limit himself to only one type of film or role, and said in this regard: “I like to diversify and touch on different stories. I like to surprise myself and my audience.”

The Bollywood star did not hesitate to criticize himself either, indicating that he was “unsatisfied” with his performance in the Indian film “Laal Singh Chaddha,” adapted from the movie “Forrest Gump.”
