Sharjah Prize for Child Book" Honoring the creators of children’s literature at 110 thousand dirhams

Sharjah on March 14 / WAM / The “Sharjah Reading Festival for Children”, organized by the “Sharjah Book Authority”, will continue from next April 23 to May 4 at the “Expo Center” Sharjah Center to receive applications for candidacy for the “Sharjah Child Book Award”, the Sharjah Voice Book Award and the Sharjah Child Book Award for people with visual needs “until March 31.

The three prizes, totaling 110,000 dirhams, celebrate the literature of children, written by children’s writers, and encourage them to produce literary works of high quality, enrich the library of children’s literature in the Arab world and the world, and contributes to enhancing the child’s awareness, enriching his literary tastes and developing his intellectual talents and capabilities.

The Sharjah Child Book Award offers financial prizes with a total of 60 thousand dirhams and distributed equally to the winners in each of its three categories, “The Book of the Child in Arabic” for the age group 4-12 years, “The Book of Advisers in Arabic” for the age group 13-17 years and “The Book of the Child in the English Language” for the age group of 7-13 years.

The award targets publishing houses, editorial text authors, and visual text artists, and the general conditions of the award include that the participating works are unique and new in its topics, and that two years have passed since the issuance of the first edition of the participating book from the date of the current session, as well as the first edition of the book, and it is not allowed to participate in the award -winning author in the same field two years before its victory.

“The Sharjah Award for Child Book for People with Optical Needs” is a financial prize of 20 thousand dirhams for the winner, the winning of the winning book and its marketing at the global level, translating its endeavor to achieve a noble goal, which is to help blind children and the vision and vision of reading the books that they read their eyes.

Participation criteria include the use of prominent touch fees that adopt many and different ways of shapes and embodiment of shapes, and to solve these drawings and fix them in a proper way, write the text in large, clear and different letters and in a Braille way, taking into account the ease of opening the book and browsing it smoothly and easy to read without obstacles in the touch path in addition to meeting the general conditions and standards to participate in the award Sharjah for the child’s book. “

The “Sharjah Voice Book Award” offers a sum of 30 thousand dirhams, which is divided equally to the winner in each of the two categories of the award “Best audio book in Arabic” and “The Best Audio Book in English”.
