المملكة: 12 residents were arrested for violating environmental regulations by exploiting sediments in Riyadh

The Special Forces for Environmental Security arrested (12) residents of Afghan, Ethiopian, Sudanese and Yemeni nationalities violating the environmental regulations, for exploiting sediments in the Riyadh region, and legal procedures were applied against them. The forces explained that (3) equipment used in crushing and transporting rocks was seized.

Violation of transporting local firewood

The forces also arrested a citizen who violated the environmental regulations, for transporting two cubic meters of local firewood in the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve. Regular procedures were applied against him, and the seized quantities were handed over to the competent authority.
The forces explained that the penalty for transporting local firewood and coal amounts to 16,000 riyals per cubic meter.
Border Guard ground patrols in the Raboua sector in the Asir region foiled the smuggling of (29,985) pills subject to medical circulation regulation. The initial regulatory procedures were completed, and the seized items were handed over to the competent authority.
It urged the forces to report any cases representing an attack on the environment or wildlife on the number (911) in the regions of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Riyadh, and Al-Sharqiya, and (999) and (996) in the rest of the regions of the Kingdom.
