"Muslim sages" Condemns the horrific hit-and-run accident in Magdeburg, Germany

Abu Dhabi, December 21 / WAM / The Council of Muslim Elders, headed by His Eminence the Grand Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, condemned the horrific car-ramming accident that occurred in a market in the city of Magdeburg in Germany, and resulted in the killing of a number of people and the injury of dozens.
In a statement issued today, he affirmed his categorical rejection of such criminal acts that aim to terrorize innocent civilians and are inconsistent with the tolerant teachings of Islam, all religions, divine laws, and international charters and norms, calling for the need to unify international efforts to confront all acts of violence and terrorism, and to work to spread the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. And human brotherhood.
The Council of Muslim Elders offered its sincere condolences to the families of the victims, asking God Almighty to grant the injured a speedy recovery.
