Floods in Spain

Pictures and videos on social media showed residents of the town of Catarroja, which has a population of 30,000, located south of Valencia, taking pictures and talking with the royal family as they walked around.

No incidents were reported, and according to the authorities, 25 people died in Cataruja out of 230 people who died as a result of the disaster.
Two weeks after the residents were exposed to them on November 3, King Felipe and Queen Letizia returned for a visit without significant incident.

Storms in Spain

A new wave of storms in Spain caused the closure of schools and the cancellation of train trips.
This came two weeks after more than 220 people were killed and thousands of homes were destroyed in flash floods in Valencia and other areas of the country.
The coastal areas of Valencia were put on high alert, and meteorologists said that up to 180 mm of rain could fall there within 5 hours.

Devastating floods

Cleaning efforts continued in parts of Valencia most affected by the October 29 storm, amid concerns about more rain falling on the streets.
In the southern province of Malaga, streets were flooded, while 3,000 people near a river were moved from their homes as a precaution.
Schools were closed across the province along with many stores, and train service between Malaga and Madrid, and between Barcelona and Valencia, was suspended.
