المملكة: An initiative to promote health and quality of life at King Abdulaziz University

Yesterday, Monday, the President of King Abdulaziz University, Dr. Tarif Al-Aama, launched the “Health Promoting University” program, which aims to enhance health in the university environment and improve the quality of life for male and female students, faculty members and workers.
The event witnessed the presence of the General Supervisor of the Healthy Cities Program at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Muhammad Nader Khashoggi, and a number of university leaders and officials.

Director of the University’s Health Promotion Center, Dr. Sami Al-Zahrani, confirmed that the program comes in response to the World Health Organization’s standards for health-promoting universities, and is in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 aimed at improving the quality of life.

He explained that the program seeks to enhance the health of the university community and enable them to participate in the health, environmental and development fields.

Al-Zahrani added that the program depends on the involvement of the university community and the general community, by launching many initiatives in cooperation with the government, private and non-profit sectors, which reflects its role as a development project that serves public health.

While Dr. Muhammad Khashoggi praised the distinguished initiatives provided by the program, and its role in supporting the health and well-being of university students and employees, in line with World Health Organization standards.
