We publish the details of the conference announcing the festive details "Culture Day"…and the mechanism for selecting the honorees

– Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno: Honoring more than 70 symbols from various cultural and artistic fields and symbols of the deceased during the year.. Egypt is rich in its creators, and the names that will be honored are not all the names that deserve to be honored

Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, announced the details of the “Egyptian Culture Day” celebration, scheduled to be organized annually in January to honor the creators and intellectual icons who enriched Egyptian cultural life throughout the year, in addition to honoring the names of a number of the departed  

 

This came during the press conference held today in the conference hall of the Supreme Council of Culture, in the presence of Dr. Ashraf Al-Azzazi, Secretary-General of the Council, and a number of journalists and media professionals

 

The Minister of Culture stressed that the celebration aims to enhance the values ​​of creativity and celebrate Egyptian intellectuals and creators who have made outstanding contributions in various cultural fields. He also pointed out the Ministry’s keenness to involve intellectuals and thinkers in nominating the honorees, as the nominations were based on the recommendations of the committees of the Supreme Council of Culture and the artistic and professional unions

 

Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno explained that the first session of the celebration will honor more than 70 prominent figures who enriched Egyptian cultural life during the year 2024, in addition to honoring the names of symbols who passed away during the year

 

The fields represented by the Council’s committees include: plastic arts, architecture, music, theatre, cinema, poetry, novels, literary studies, translation, children’s culture, as well as the fields of history, geography, archeology, psychology, education, sociology, philosophy, and law. , intellectual property, books and publishing, media, digital culture, and youth culture

 

The Minister of Culture added that this event represents a first step towards establishing an annual tradition to celebrate distinguished members of the cultural community in January of each year, noting that the honored names are only a small part of those who deserve to be honored in Egypt, which is full of creative people in various fields  

 

He continued: In every field, we will find hundreds and thousands of people who deserve to be honored, but we consider the names that will be honored next week as representatives of all who are distinguished in their field of work, and this celebration will be an opportunity to highlight their valuable contributions and encourage more creativity and innovation in various cultural fields.

 

The Minister of Culture invited intellectuals and media professionals to attend the honoring ceremony scheduled to be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the Grand Theater of the Cairo Opera House, stressing that this celebration will be an occasion to take pride in our national culture and highlight positive role models in society, noting that the 2024 celebration will be the beginning of a tradition we look forward to. To develop, continue, and expand to include more creators in the fields of culture and arts, throughout the Republic

 

He pointed out that the Ministry will be keen every year to receive proposals to develop the idea and maintain its continuity

 

Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno concluded by thanking all those who contributed to the success of this initiative, from the heads and members of the Council’s committees and artistic unions, to the media professionals who are considered essential partners in conveying the cultural message.
