With a fake container.. a huge quantity of drugs was seized in the French port of Louvre

French police confiscated more than two tons of cocaine worth approximately 130 million euros ($134 million) in the Louvre port in northern France.
The police explained that the smugglers used a fake container that was identical to another container of their own to bring in the drugs.

Drug smuggling

According to Europol, the container’s registration information is copied after routine inspection by customs, and this information is then pasted onto a duplicate container, allowing it to pass undetected.

This method usually allows the counterfeit container, along with copied papers and labels, to be passed without attracting attention within the port area.
However, this time investigators were able to find the drugs. A truck driver carrying a container and a port worker involved in the smuggling operation, two men aged 41 and 22 years, were arrested and face a prison sentence of up to 30 years.
