The head of accreditation and health oversight receives a delegation from Helwan University to qualify its hospitals for comprehensive health insurance

The head of the Health Accreditation and Control Authority praised the steps taken by Helwan University. To develop its university hospital, he stated that the Authority will provide all necessary support, starting with reviewing engineering designs and medical equipment, all the way to applying quality standards and training medical personnel on them, in a way that contributes to achieving the level required for hospitals to obtain accreditation.

Dr. Wael Omar, Executive Director of Helwan University Hospitals, indicated that Badr University Hospital, affiliated with the University Helwan has distinguished medical capabilities, as it includes 230 beds, including 24 intensive care beds for adults and 4 intensive care beds for children, in addition to a unit for premature babies that includes 14 incubators. The hospital also contains 7 fully equipped operating rooms, and specialized medical units, including a treatment unit. Oncology, a dialysis unit, an endoscopy unit, and a cardiac catheterization unit.
He explained that the hospital performs all advanced surgical procedures, such as surgeries Open heart, joint replacement, arthroscopic tumor removal, and other delicate operations, and provides its services through 14 outpatient clinics covering 33 medical specialties, which contributes significantly to improving the level of health care in the region.
