Food and Drug Administration: Beware of the pepperoni product (Country Butcher Boy)

The Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) warned against the pepperoni product, which is dried beef of the “Country Butcher Boy” brand, “the country of origin is the United Arab Emirates,” packed in 250-gram containers, and carrying an expiration date until 3/1/2025 AD. It explained, “ Food and Drug Administration stated that the results of laboratory analyzes proved that the product was contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria, which may constitute A risk to consumer health.

The Authority recommended that consumers avoid consuming this product and dispose of what they have of it, noting that it had taken the necessary measures to withdraw the product from the market, in addition to taking legal measures against the importing company.

The Food and Drug Administration indicated that violating the food system and its executive regulations could result in imprisonment for a period not exceeding 10 years, or a fine of up to 10 million riyals, or both.

It stressed that it will not tolerate any violation that may affect the health of citizens and residents, noting that it continues its efforts to ensure the safety of products and take the necessary measures against those who violate them.
