8 billion dirhams in UAE and Mexico trade within 10 months of 2024

The United Arab Emirates and the United States of Mexico continue their efforts to advance trade and investment relations to new heights by continuing to explore opportunities to build partnerships between the business communities and the private sector on both sides.
During an official visit to the capital, Mexico City, the Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, discussed with senior officials and business leaders in Mexico ways to provide more opportunities for building partnerships between the two friendly countries.
Al-Zeyoudi, in the presence of the UAE Ambassador to Mexico, Salem Rashid Al Owais, held bilateral meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Juan Ramon de Lafuente, and the Minister of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, during which they discussed prospects for cooperation in sectors of common interest, and exchanged visions and ideas on ways to Stimulating the growth of intra-oil non-oil trade, which has been on an upward trend for years, rising by 20.8% to 2.6 billion US dollars. (9.5 billion dirhams) in 2023, compared to $2.1 billion (7.7 billion dirhams) in 2022, while the two countries’ trade continued to flourish in 2024, rising by 1% to $2.2 billion (8 billion dirhams) during the first 10 months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.
Al-Zeyoudi discussed with the Mexican Minister of Economy opportunities for cooperation and stimulating non-oil trade between the two countries to contribute to achieving joint growth, in addition to supporting partnerships between the private sectors in the two countries in promising fields, such as agriculture, industry, services, infrastructure and tourism, as well as ways to strengthen supply chains to serve interests. Common to both sides.
Al-Zeyoudi stressed, “There is a common will and mutual keenness between the UAE and Mexico to advance trade and investment relations to the level of the ambitious development goals of the two friendly countries, especially since there are several areas of economic integration between the two sides, through the creation of a trade and investment corridor between two important growth regions in the world.”
He said, “The continued growth in non-oil trade between the UAE and Mexico over the past years confirms that there are promising prospects for developing new partnerships between the two business communities, to stimulate mutual growth in the two friendly countries, and to open broader horizons for trade and investment cooperation in many sectors.”
During the visit, Al-Zeyoudi met with a group of senior officials in Mexico, including the President of the Federation of Mexican Chambers of Industry (CONCAMIN), Francisco Cervantes, where the two sides explored opportunities to strengthen relations and create partnerships between the private sectors on both sides in line with the successive positive developments in trade and investment relations between the two countries. .
Al-Zeyoudi also discussed with the President of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism in Mexico City, Jose de Jesús Rodriguez Cárdenas, ways to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, the promising investment and commercial opportunities available in both the Emirates and Mexico, and ways to facilitate business for companies wishing to expand and build new partnerships between them. Both sides, Dr. Thani Al-Zeyoudi also met with a number of businessmen and representatives of major Mexican companies.
