Kuljit Gata Ora, President of Boeing in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, said that green hydrogen, which is produced from renewable sources, will in the future play an increasing role in sustainable aviation fuel and will improve its productivity, stressing that the aviation industry has confirmed its commitment to introducing this vital fuel to achieve global sustainability goals. .

In this context, he pointed to their strong partnership with the UAE, national authorities, and the Sustainable Bioenergy Research Consortium, which includes Masdar Institute, Khalifa University, Etihad Airways, and other leading parties in this field, stressing that the research resulted in the production of biofuel that was operated for the aircraft of the national carrier, โ€œEtihad Airways.โ€ “.

He also stressed Boeing’s commitment to strengthening its relations with the Emirates and working to achieve qualitative and sustainable progress in the aviation sector, as the company also joined an alliance with a number of parties with the aim of enhancing the production and manufacturing of sustainable aviation fuel in the Emirates, in line with the country’s vision towards a sustainable future.

He explained that the company continues to support major airlines such as Emirates Airlines and Etihad Airways, which operate about 300 different Boeing aircraft, stressing their endeavor to meet the needs of these companies and support their future expansions.

Colgate Ghata said that the company works closely with the Emirates to support the innovation environment, as cooperation has contributed to the implementation of innovation accelerator programs that focus on promoting advanced technology and encouraging emerging companies in the field of aviation. For her part, Ivana Gemilkova, CEO of the Hydrogen Council, confirmed that the hydrogen sector is witnessing a qualitative transformation that reflects an unprecedented development at the global level, explaining that investment in this sector has reached very encouraging levels, as the committed capital has increased seven-fold over the past four years. She expressed that this progress confirms that hydrogen has transformed from a vision into a tangible global reality.

She pointed out that the Hydrogen Council currently supervises more than 430 projects in various parts of the world, which indicates the maturity of the sector and the progress of projects towards actual implementation, adding that the next stage will focus on building integrated ecosystems to support commercial demand for hydrogen, to contribute to achieving economic and social benefits. Gemilkova praised the pioneering role of the UAE and the region in supporting global initiatives to develop the hydrogen sector, noting that Masdar recently joined the Board of Directors of the World Hydrogen Council, looking forward to intensifying work with the UAE and the region to advance the efforts of hydrogen projects to grow at the regional and global levels.

She confirmed that the hydrogen sector achieves qualitative success rates, compared to the early development stages of other renewable energy sectors such as wind and solar energy, which gives the sector a clear path for expansion and innovation.
