Dubai, January 19 / WAM / Her Excellency Reina Sikut, Estonian Minister of Health, confirmed that digital transformation in healthcare opens new horizons for cooperation between the UAE and Estonia, as the major developments in the health sector in both countries constituted a strategic opportunity for joint work to promote innovative health solutions.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, Her Excellency said that since the 1990s, Estonia has become an innovative global model in the field of digital transformation, especially in the health sector, by building an integrated electronic health system that relies on an advanced infrastructure that includes secure identity verification. Digital, which enhances the possibility of linking health databases effectively and securely.
She explained that their integrated electronic system allows health care providers and decision makers to access accurate data in real time, which enhances the health system’s ability to provide thoughtful and effective health care services, and also gives patients the ability to fully control their health data.

Regarding identity verification and integration of health databases, Sikut pointed out that Estonia has used artificial intelligence and big data technologies to improve healthcare services, with a focus on disease prevention.
Regarding the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the field of digital health care, she explained that cooperation between Estonia and the Emirates is not a new matter, as fruitful partnerships have been established between Estonian companies and Emirati health institutions since Expo 2020 in Dubai, and through these partnerships, advanced platforms for digital services were designed that It relies on artificial intelligence and improving efficiency in healthcare, which opens horizons for expanding these solutions in the UAE and the region.
Sikut concluded her statement by talking about the Arab Health Conference 2025 exhibition, which Dubai is hosting from January 27 to 30, stressing that the event in which Estonia is participating is an ideal opportunity to expand the scope of cooperation between the two countries in the field of digital health.
