The Red Crescent in Riyadh completes the first phase of the “Moath” project

The branch of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Riyadh region completed the first phase of the “Moaz” project, with the aim of enhancing the culture of emergency safety in government and private work environments, and developing mechanisms for dealing with emergency cases.

The name of the project is linked to “Moaz,” a citizen working in a company in the capital, Riyadh, who died during his work of a heart attack – may God have mercy on him – which prompted the Authority to launch this project in all regions of the Kingdom to enhance emergency preparedness and reduce health risks in the workplace.

The first phase of the project was implemented in cooperation with more than 30 government agencies, and included training more than 1,300 employees on first aid and dealing with heart attacks, installing 70 resuscitation devices in workplaces, and developing rapid access plans within the facility under the name (ambulance path). These efforts contributed to activating the role of those around the patient to respond immediately to emergency situations, which contributes to increasing the chances of saving lives.

The Authority is working to expand the scope of the project in the second phase to include government and private sectors, with a focus on providing resuscitation devices in facilities, training qualified human cadres to deal with critical cases, and enhancing integration between occupational safety systems and emergency preparedness.

The project aims to spread a culture of emergency safety as an essential part of work environments, reduce death rates resulting from emergency health crises, and raise the efficiency of institutions in providing effective and rapid responses to emergency situations.

Vice President of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority and Director General of the Authority’s branch in the Riyadh region, Dr. Fahd bin Saleh Al-Hajjaj, explained that the project is an essential tributary to supporting safe work environments and achieving sustainability in occupational safety standards, pointing out that it comes in accordance with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in enhancing the quality of life and improving the quality of life. level of public health.

He stated that the project focuses on the importance of emergency preparedness in the workplace as an essential means of preserving lives and reducing response time to crises, while building sustainable partnerships between the Authority and various entities to enhance the culture of emergency safety in the Kingdom.
