Davos 2025.. “Abu Dhabi Health” calls for expanding the scope of employing artificial intelligence in health care

Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, participated in a discussion session entitled “The Future of Health: Reimagining the Concept of Wellness Through Smart Technologies,” which was held in the UAE pavilion as part of the 2025 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland.
The session discussed the pivotal role of global cooperation in strengthening global healthcare systems through technology and responsible innovation, including employing artificial intelligence, harnessing data, and digital transformation to build more proactive health systems that provide personalized care and advanced health services to all members of society.
Along with Al Mansouri, the Italian Minister of Health, Professor Orazio Schillaci, Joseph Romanelli, Head of International Human Health at MSD, Switzerland, and Christoph Weber, CEO of Takeda, Japan, participated in the session.
Al Mansouri pointed to the enormous potential of artificial intelligence in processing data and extracting actionable insights, stressing the importance of making this data available fairly at the global level, and making the most of innovative solutions based on its analysis.
Al Mansouri explained that progress in artificial intelligence does not only mean creating smarter and more efficient tools for processing data, but also means transforming this knowledge into tangible applications.
Al Mansouri added that good health is the foundation of a prosperous economy. When individuals are healthy, productivity flourishes, innovation grows, and thus societies advance. Our vision in Abu Dhabi depends on building a smart health system that enhances efficiency, is able to predict risks and take action proactively, and by employing advanced technologies. Real-world evidence, and by strengthening strategic global partnerships, will enable us to meet future health challenges, ensuring a healthier future for all.
Al Mansouri affirmed Abu Dhabi’s commitment to strengthening global cooperation, an essential pillar of its health strategy, and reviewed the efforts made to cooperate the emirate’s health care system with its partners, including governments, academic institutions, and sector leaders from around the world, to confront common challenges, advance responsible innovation, and develop sustainable models of health care that meet… The needs of diverse communities.
Al Mansouri pointed out that Abu Dhabi, through its partnerships with global sector leaders such as MSD and Takeda, is making great progress in the fields of personalized and precision medicine and the treatment of rare diseases, which strengthens its position as a global model for innovation.
He stressed the importance of global cooperation in building resilient health systems that serve everyone, and called on participants to join the Abu Dhabi World Health Week scheduled to be held in April 2025 under the slogan “Towards Long Life: A New Concept for Health and Wellness,” which brings together world leaders to unify efforts, strengthen partnerships and explore advanced, scalable health solutions. To implement, it harnesses the technological capabilities available to improve healthcare outcomes, to support health and wellness globally.
