The Lebanese President: The unity of the Arab countries is the basis for facing the current challenges

Lebanese President, General Joseph Aoun, stressed the depth of Lebanese-Kuwaiti relations rooted throughout history, expressing his hope that the people of Kuwait in particular and the Gulf states in general would return to visit Lebanon, stressing that the unity of the Arab countries is the basis for confronting the current challenges.

"Aoun" said – During his meeting today, Friday, at Baabda Palace, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, and Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassem Muhammad Al-Budaiwi, with a delegation from the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry and the Cooperation Council, according to the National News Agency in Lebanon, that after the formation of the government, communication will be made with the Gulf states to develop… New foundations for cooperation.

For his part, Al-Yahya affirmed the strength of Lebanese-Kuwaiti relations, indicating that the visit is a visit of support, endorsement and commitment to stand by Lebanon’s side to provide all necessary assistance in all fields. 

The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister stressed “activating the Lebanese-Kuwaiti joint committees to address the issues raised according to Lebanese needs.”

In turn, the Secretary-General said For the Gulf Cooperation Council, the visit comes after the special session held by the Cooperation Council, in which it discussed two topics, the first is the situation in Syria and the second is the Lebanese file, reaffirming the principles of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in terms of supporting Lebanon, its sovereignty, and non-interference.
