The Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse, headed by Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity, was organized And the Chairman of the Fund’s Board of Directors, held a graduation ceremony for 100 people recovering from addiction from the first integrated treatment center. Rehabilitating addiction patients in Damietta Governorate within the presidential initiative " A decent life, under the title " “Recovery is a life” After receiving all treatment services at the center for free, in accordance with international standards, in the presence of Dr. Amr Othman, Director of the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse.
Engineer Shaima Al-Siddiq, Deputy Governor of Damietta, participated in the event on behalf of Dr. Ayman Al-Shehabi, Governor of Damietta, and Professor Ohoud, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Life Decent Foundation, the executive leaders of the Fund and the governorate, and heads of sectors in the Foundation.
Dr. Amr Othman conducted an inspection tour inside the Al-Azima Center, accompanied by the Deputy Governor and President of the “Life Decent” Foundation. ; The center includes green spaces, rehabilitation and psychological support halls, a gymnasium, and other components that are comparable to the best addiction treatment centers in the world, as it was prepared in accordance with international standards in the field of treatment and rehabilitation of addiction patients, and the center also includes a playground. Football "five-a-side" Table tennis, billiards, gym halls for men and also for women, a music hall, theatre, a library, a restaurant, and vocational training workshops to teach recovering people vocational trades needed by the labor market within the “occupational therapy” program, in order to rehabilitate those recovering from addiction. The center aims to provide therapeutic services to approximately 3,000 patients annually between Outpatient and inpatient clinics for the people of Damietta and Kafr El-Sheikh governorates .

Dr. Amr Othman thanked Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, for her keenness to allocate the center’s building to the Addiction Control and Treatment Fund at the time of her tenure as Governor of Damietta, to be the first integrated center for the treatment and rehabilitation of addiction patients in the Governorate. Damietta within the presidential initiative " A decent life It has become comparable to the best addiction treatment centers in the world within the Fund’s series of determination centers in many different governorates.
The Fund is keen to combat and treat addiction and abuse through its centers.
