Specialized Vice President: Innovation in Health Care promotes medical tourism in the Kingdom

The Executive Vice President of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, Dr. Bjorn Zwiga, participated in the activities of the Arab Health Exhibition 2025, which is held in the Emirate of Dubai from January 27 to January 30, speaking in a discussion session entitled “Investing in the Future of Health Care in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Achieving Vision 2030 “, introducing visions about the role of innovation in pushing the limits of the possible in the specialized health care provided by the hospital, and its impact on enhancing medical tourism in the Kingdom. Dr. Zuiga explained during his participation that the hospital adoption of advanced technologies such as the diagnosis of artificial intelligence, and surgeries. With the help of robots and virtual medicine services, it enhances the efforts of the health sector transformation program, which raises the quality of health care provided and easy nation.

He reviewed the specialized efforts in promoting the sustainability of health services, by employing artificial intelligence to improve workflow, adopting energy-saving facilities, and producing advanced treatments such as T-cells (CAR-T) locally, enhancing self-sufficiency in the health care sector.

At the end of the session, he also touched on the international partnerships linking the hospital with international institutions such as “Mayo Clinic” and “Harvard”, which contributed to the exchange of knowledge and adopting the best health practices in the Kingdom.

It is noteworthy that the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and the Research Center was the first class in the Middle East, Africa and 20 globally, for the second year in a row, in the list of the best 250 academic health care institutions around the world, and the highest valuable health brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East, according to “Brand Finance” (Finance Brand) for the year 2024, and was included in the list of the best smart hospitals in the world for the year 2025 by Newsweek.
