The green data center in “Moro” is ready for the future

The Green Data Center at the Data Center for Integrated Solutions (Moro), which is affiliated with the Diwa Digital Group, the digital arm of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, obtained a mark of readiness for the future that is granted to the federal and local authorities that designing and applying exceptional projects that enhance the UAE’s readiness for the future.

Granting the center reflects the mark of readiness for the future, the project role, the results achieved and its impact on enhancing the readiness of the data sector for global variables in a sustainable manner, by designing an innovative model enhanced by green technology in order to raise the competitiveness of the digital economy and the green economy of the state, where the center works with solar energy by 100%, with a capacity Green electricity in the first stage is 6.3 MW, and the carbon fingerprint is reduced by more than 17 thousand tons of carbon emissions.

The project offers 140 green data solutions, and more than 100 advanced digital services with the highest standards of cyber preparation for the government and business sector competitively, as it attracted more than 175 government agencies and major international advanced technology companies that benefit from green data services, including sustainable cloud computing, and more From 1000 models for the Internet of Things and Smart Cities, which will be the focus of government, society and human service through 200 applications available around the clock, enhances the digital readiness for the future.

“Green data is the sustainable future oil and the main engine of major technological transformations that will constitute the future of digital development that governments around the world will witness in the next stage,” said Uyouh Bint Khalfan Al -Roumi, Minister of State for Governmental and Future Development.

She added, “The UAE is providing a sustainable model for the future, supported by the practical results on the ground, which establishes its position as a global center for green data and sustainable digital transformation.”

For his part, the Managing Director, CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, said: “The green data center embodies a pioneering model in adopting advanced digital solutions that depend entirely on solar energy, which contributes to promoting sustainable digital transformation and reducing the carbon footprint.” He added: ” Thanks to its leadership, the center became one of the main pillars to achieve the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the carbon neutrality strategy 2050 for the Emirate of Dubai to provide 100% of the production capacity of energy from clean sources by 2050, by providing innovative technical and sustainable solutions.
