المملكة: Minister of Human Resources: New initiatives that transform the challenges of the labor market into qualitative opportunities

The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Ahmed bin Suleiman Al -Rajhi, revealed the launch of two main initiatives aimed at transforming the challenges of the labor market into qualitative opportunities.
This came during the opening of the second edition of the International Labor Market Conference 2025, which is held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, under the slogan of the future of work at the King Abdulaziz International Convention Center in Riyadh.

Al -Rajhi stressed that the Kingdom is committed to developing the labor market and facing global challenges by launching two main initiatives, the first of the Labor Market Academy, which will be based in Riyadh, and will work to provide advanced training programs to raise the efficiency of the workforce and qualify them for the changing labor market requirements.
He continued: “As for the second, a report to anticipate the future, which aims to provide practical recommendations based on in -depth research and puts innovative strategies to fill the skills gaps and enhance lifelong learning, which contributes to building a sustainable labor market and is able to keep pace with global developments.

Wide international participation

The conference witnessed the participation of 40 ministers to work from different countries of the world, including the Group of Twenty, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the American region, in addition to the Director General of the International Labor Organization, Gilbert Hongo, along with more than five thousand participants and two hundred speakers of policymakers, experts and specialists in the labor market from More than a hundred countries

The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Ahmed bin Suleiman Al -Rajhi, explained in his opening speech that the International Labor Market Conference has become a year ago a leading platform to form the future of labor markets, thanks to the valuable attendance contributions and their participation from all over the world, noting that the conference is gaining great importance in light of global transformations That affects the labor market

Radical global changes

He stressed that the world is going through radical changes that directly affect the labor market, including rapid technological developments that require the development of human skills and capabilities to keep pace with digital transformations and basic demographic changes that affect the distribution of the workforce globally and emerging environmental and economic issues such as adaptation to climate change that impose new challenges on The labor market calls for innovative strategies to confront them.

Al -Rajhi pointed out that there are increasing challenges facing the labor markets globally, as the number of unemployed youth is about sixty -seven million, while it is estimated that about twenty percent of young people between the ages of fifteen and twenty years do not work or participate in education or training.

Difficulty employment

He also added that 40% of employers are having difficulty filling vacancies due to the lack of matching workforce skills with the requirements of the labor market, while the percentage of youth unemployment exceeds 30% in some regions of the world, which makes the need urgent to effective strategies to fill the skills gaps and enhance the sustainability of labor markets.

Al -Rajhi reviewed a number of strategic steps taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the umbrella of Vision 2030 with the aim of empowering the workforce, stimulating the transformation in the labor market, most notably specialized training programs, and launching the youth development strategy in the Kingdom that aims to provide broader opportunities for youth and enhance their role in building the national economy And cooperative training policy that focuses on linking education to the labor market to ensure the qualification of graduates and securing job opportunities commensurate with their specializations.

The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development stressed that these efforts reflect the Kingdom’s commitment to building a sustainable labor market capable of facing global challenges and providing qualitative job opportunities for citizens and residents, stressing the importance of international cooperation in facing the rapid changes in the labor market

Al -Rajhi called on all the participants in the conference to cooperate and exchange successful ideas and practices in order to form the future of the global labor market and enhance its sustainability, stressing that the conference represents an opportunity to develop innovative strategies that support employment, skills, training and economic sustainability in various countries of the world
