Sharjah Book Authority holds the emirate’s cultural message to the Cairo International Book Fair 2025

Cairo, January 29 / WAM / The Sharjah Book Authority participates in the activities of the 56th session of the Cairo International Book Fair, which will be held from January 23 to February 5 at the Egypt Center for International Exhibitions, as part of its continuous efforts to enhance the Arab and international cultural movement, and to build bridges of cultural and knowledge communication Among the various countries of the Arab region and the world.
During his visit to the Sharjah Book Authority’s pavilion, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanu, the Egyptian Minister of Culture, received a special gift for two versions of the book “Egyptian Memories” written by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to His Excellency the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, His Excellency Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, the Egyptian Prime Minister, in which His Highness recounts his memories during his stay in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The Sharjah Book Authority’s pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair witnessed the visit of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al -Harrasi, Minister of Information in the Sultanate of Oman, who discussed with representatives of the authority ways to enhance joint media cooperation between cultural institutions in the Sultanate and its counterparts in the Emirate of Sharjah, in order to support common cultural goals.
The pavilion attracted a number of prominent figures and officials in the publishing sector from all over the world, who were briefed on the services of the Sharjah Publishing City, including the support it provides to publishers through advanced infrastructure, printing and translation services, and facilities that contribute to promoting and publishing the book industry At the regional and international level.
The authority reviewed the audience of the exhibition, a series of initiatives and programs that it organizes throughout the year, such as the Sharjah International Book Festival, the Sharjah Reading Festival for Children, and Publishers and Libraries conferences that aim to develop the publishing industry in the region, in addition to introducing the prizes sponsored by the emirate to enhance the composition, publishing and translation sectors.
The Sharjah Book Authority presents during the exhibition an integrated activities program that includes dialogue sessions and workshops that discuss the cultural scene in Sharjah and its role in shaping the future of Arab culture and displays the rats of literary and cultural publications in the Emirati creative scene, and opens the areas of international cooperation through meetings that bring together the authority with the role of publishing and global cultural institutions.
His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakad Al -Amiri, CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority, stressed that participation in the Cairo International Book Fair comes within the Sharjah vision to enhance cultural communication and support the Arab and international literary movement.
He said that Sharjah, thanks to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, always seeks to extend bridges of cultural dialogue with various countries of the world, and the Cairo International Book Fair is an ideal platform to achieve this goal as it provides an opportunity to interact with various cultures and promote Cooperation with cultural institutions and Arab and international publishing houses.
He added that through our participation in this ancient cultural event, we seek to highlight the Emirati literary scene, support the authors and publishers, and to provide their work to the exhibition audience, and we confirm our commitment to continue to work to promote reading and knowledge, as they are basic pillars to develop societies and build a more prosperous future.
Al -Amiri described the culture as the main driver for sustainable development and said that our participation in this exhibition opens new doors to fruitful cooperation with publishers and intellectuals and reflects our deep faith in the role of the book in building bridges of understanding between peoples.
In turn, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanu, the Egyptian Minister of Culture, expressed his happiness with the participation of Sharjah represented by the Sharjah Book Authority at the Cairo International Book Fair, pointing out that Sharjah’s exhibits from books and references represent an addition to the exhibition.
His Excellency said that the cultural activity witnessed in Sharjah enhances the historical ties between the United Arab Emirates and the Arab world in general and the Arab Republic of Egypt in particular, and my happiness with the cultural achievements that get the land of Sharjah indescribable, as it is considered a beacon of culture in the Arab world.
The Sharjah Book Authority participates in the Cairo International Book Fair 2025 with a delegation that includes a group of the most prominent cultural institutions in Sharjah and gathered under its umbrella with a group of words, Al -Qasimi publications and the Department of Culture, the Free Zone of Sharjah Publishing City, and the Sharjah Literary Rights Agency, along with the Arab Forum for Children’s Books Publishers.
