The conference was attended by 40 ministers of work from different countries around the world, including the Group of Twenty, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas, in addition to the Director General of the International Labor Organization, Mr. Gilbert Hongoo.
Al -Rajhi pointed out that the Kingdom seeks, through hosting the conference, to become a major center to anticipate the future of labor markets and develop them globally, stressing at the same time that the conference represents a global strategic platform; To enhance cooperation, unify international efforts, and exchange experiences; In order to formulate innovative solutions to meet the challenges of labor markets and enhance their sustainability, especially in light of the rapid technical transformations.
Innovative solutions
The meeting discussed the urgent challenges facing the global labor markets, with a focus on formulating innovative and sustainable solutions to address them, as well as an exchange of ideas and experiences, as the ministers reviewed the most prominent trends and challenges of the labor market, which contributed to setting strong foundations for drawing practical strategies that support future transformations and enhance the sustainability of markets the job.
According to the discussions of the ministerial meeting, His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al -Rajhi, the head of the meeting, announced eight decisive measures that represent a comprehensive vision to enhance the flexibility and comprehensiveness of the labor markets, to confront the current challenges such as: youth unemployment, technical transformations, and achieve the sustainability of the workforce.
The eight procedures came as follows:
- Enhancing programs and supportive initiatives to facilitate the transfer of young people from education to the work environment.
- Enabling the workforce to meet the future of work in the era of artificial intelligence.
- Increased investment in human capital development initiatives, including training and re -training.
- Improving the flexibility of the labor market to allow various forms of work, including remote work and partial opportunities.
- Support the growth of small and medium companies by enhancing job finding.
- The use of technology platforms and skill classifications linking education, job seekers, employers.
- Create initiatives to support the recruitment of marginalized groups, including persons with disabilities and unemployed for long periods.
- Establishing a comprehensive labor market data system to track employment trends, skills and wages and the workforce composition to support transformations in the labor market.
