The committee to polarize and retain global talents discusses the executive plans for new initiatives

Abu Dhabi, August 21 / WAM / The Committee for the Recreation and Endurance of Global Talents discussed during its ninth meeting, headed by His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al -Zyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade and Minister in charge of the file of attracting and retaining global talents, the latest developments in projects and executive plans for the new initiatives within the second phase 2024 – 2027 of the National Strategy to attract and anticipate talents 2031.

The second phase of the national strategy to attract talents 2024 – 2027 includes a set of initiatives that will be involved in the implementation of the relevant authorities at the level of the federal government, local governments and private sector institutions, and will work to attract professional groups specialized in the targeted sectors, and the launch of global promotional campaigns that establish the state’s mission to be the home of exceptional talents, and organize a number of international events related to polarization And the development of talents at the level of all the target sectors.

The committee includes in its membership representatives of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Community Empowerment, the Ministry of Culture, the Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Ports Security, the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics, the Abu Dhabi Residents Office – Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, the Council of the Emirates Scholars, and the Council Emirates for artificial intelligence and digital transactions.

His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al -Zyoudi stressed that the strategic projects and initiatives that were discussed during the meeting are aimed at contributing to the continued upgrading of the UAE arrangement in the indicators of the competitiveness of global talent, and the consolidation of the state’s position as a preferred destination for the brightest minds, aspirations and talents from different countries of the world, especially in the strategic sectors that lead the future, in addition to strengthening the environment incubating talents in the state to keep them in the term Long by consolidating a sense of belonging and providing opportunities for continuous growth and development.

His Excellency Al -Zyoudi said that the progress of the UAE’s arrangement on the global indicators to attract and keep talent comes the fruit of the forward -looking vision of the wise leadership and its continuous directives of the importance of working to continue to establish the state’s status as an attractive destination and an incubating environment for those with talents, abusive minds and high competencies from all over the world to benefit from their contributions to the continued stimulation of sustainable growth of the economy National.

His Excellency added that the new initiatives and projects that were discussed during the meeting will contribute to attracting more talents in the targeted economic sectors, and enabling the UAE to join the list of the top 10 global destinations to attract talents by 2031, praising the spirit of one team and cooperation between members of the committee and all parties concerned with implementing the Emirates strategy to attract and anticipate talents.

The convening of this periodic meeting of the committee to attract and retain global talents is a continuation of the efforts of the work team, the problem from various ministries and relevant government agencies, to contribute to achieving the national targets of the goals of the “UAE 2031” vision related to enhancing the state’s competitiveness globally as a center for the economy of the future based on knowledge and innovation, and enabling economic sectors to attract the brightest minds and people with qualitative competencies to contribute to building The economy of the future, and the completion of the process of sustainable growth and prosperity in the country.

During the meeting, members of the committee to polarize and anticipate global talent exchanged visions and ideas on new projects and initiatives, as they discussed the latest global developments in the field of talent polarization, and the best practices adopted by the leading countries, and the attendees also dealt with research and discussion the most important results and recommendations that came out of the eighth meeting, and updates were presented on the stages of implementing the new strategy, including new initiatives and trends.

According to the World Talent Competitiveness report issued by the International Institute for Administrative Development (IMD) for the year 2024, the UAE ranked 17th globally and the first in the Arab world, outperforming the number of advanced major economies, after 5 positions at once jumped compared to the previous year, as it advanced in the “gravity” index to 12th, and the “readiness” index to the second rank globally.

It is noteworthy that the Council of Ministers had adopted in the beginning of 2025 the second phase of the strategy to attract international talents 2031, which will focus on major national priorities that include enhancing the competitiveness of talents in the UAE, highlighting the UAE as a destination for work, enhancing a sense of belonging to the UAE, and consolidating future stability of global talents in the country.

The targeted sectors include talent at this stage technology, renewable energy, health care and biotechnology, logistics and aviation services, advanced industries, financial services, food and water technology, and the creative economy.
