conclusion " First International Conference on Library and Information Sciences" Dubai

Dubai, January 31/ WAM/ The activities of the First International Conference on Library and Information Sciences organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Library in cooperation with Al -Wasl University in Dubai under the title “Library Science and Information in the Academic Map between the challenges of artificial intelligence and data science”.

The conference – which was held under the slogan “The Future of Knowledge Workers” – gathered – a group of academics and specialists for two days, during which they discussed ways to develop the sector in light of the current technological challenges.

The event witnessed the participation of more than 30 speakers, in the presence of hundreds of young people whose presence reflected the interest of the emerging generation and its desire to lead and improve the library sector in line with the requirements of the modern era.

Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazrouei, member of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, explained that the conference reflects the vital role of public libraries in the leadership of sustainable development in the era of digital transformation, in line with national strategies and the vision of leadership over the next fifty years.

He added that the extensive participation of specialists and interested, especially young people, stresses the importance of libraries as dynamic centers for knowledge and creativity, which enhances building a more awareness society and the ability to face future challenges.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Rahman, Director of Al -Wasl University, stated that the conference is like a qualitative shift in the way of using artificial intelligence tools in library and information science, praising the issues dealt with concerned with the development of libraries and their sciences and the foresight of their future.

At the conclusion of their conference, the meeting recommended the need to enhance the use of artificial intelligence and data science in libraries and information, spread awareness of its importance to improve services, provide training programs and grants to update skills, and integrate artificial intelligence applications into academic programs to improve efficiency and quality of services.
