Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense, the head of the General Staff, the first team, Fayyad bin Hamid Al -Ruwaili, in Makkah Al -Mukarramah, opened today the tenth international competition in memorizing the Holy Quran for the military, with the participation of 179 contestants representing 32 countries.
The ceremony started with recitation of verses from the remembrance of God, the wise, then the Director General of the General Administration of Religious Affairs of the Armed Forces, the general supervisor of the tenth international competition in memorizing the Holy Quran for the military, Major General Dr. Misfer bin Hassan Al -Issa, gave a speech in which he mentioned the Kingdom’s blessed efforts under the wise leadership -support it God- in the service of the Noble Qur’an, and the great attention it pays in promoting its preservation, teaching its meanings and following its approach, indicating that this competition is characterized by unique privacy, as it allows members of the armed forces from different countries to compete in preserving the book of God and good recitation.

Memorizing the Holy Quran

And that the competition comes within the framework of the Kingdom’s firm commitment to caring for the Holy Book of God, and its constant keenness to spread the lofty values ​​of Islam among the military, in order to enhance its pioneering position in serving the Holy Qur’an and its interest in its memorization.

After that, the attendees watched an introductory film, which reviewed the history of the competition and its career, and the achievements since its inception. After that, the head of the General Staff announced the opening of the competition, then toured the exhibition accompanying the competition, and reviewed his activities and the most prominent participating authorities.

Contest details

The competition, organized by the General Administration of Religious Affairs of the Armed Forces, includes six branches, namely memorizing the Holy Quran with recitation and intonation, memorizing twenty parts with recitation and intonation, memorizing ten parts with recitation and intonation, memorizing five parts with recitation and intonation, and memorizing three parts with recitation and intonation, The most beautiful recitation with intonation and good performance, recitation from the Qur’an.
