The UAE enhances its leadership with solar energy projects that support sustainability

The UAE has strengthened its global leading position in the solar energy sector through prominent achievements in developing renewable energy projects aimed at supporting sustainability and climate neutrality.
Renewable energy projects embody the state’s commitment to achieving climate neutrality by 2050 through the development of giant stations, where three of the largest solar power plants around the world occupy, which reflects its global leadership in the field of clean energy and its support for sustainable transformation.
Solar energy stations in the UAE contribute fundamentally to enhance the concepts of sustainability by supporting the shift towards clean energy and reducing carbon emissions, which contributes to preserving the environment for future generations.
These stations play a vital role in achieving the strategic balance between traditional energy sources and clean energy sources in line with the UAE Energy Strategy 2050 and the 2050 National Energy Strategy.
The Emirates Energy Strategy was updated 2050 to reflect greater ambitions in the field of renewable energy, as the country seeks to double the contribution of clean energy 3 times during the next seven years with investments ranging between 150 and 200 billion dirhams, which contributes to achieving climate neutrality and enhancing energy security while targeting the access of solar energy capacity To 14.2 GB by 2030.
Specific energy projects translate the UAE’s commitment to enhancing the use of clean and sustainable energy at the local and international levels, and the most important future projects are “his solar energy storage project with a capacity of 1500 megawatts and the Al -Ajaban solar energy project with a capacity Today, the Al -Faya solar energy project and the giraffe project for solar energy.
The UAE achieved the first positions in global competitiveness indicators, the most important of which is the second place globally in the individual’s share of solar energy consumption, while the state plans to benefit from renewable resources to meet about 20% of its energy needs in 2030.
The UAE adopts clean and renewable energy projects as a methodology for combating climate changes, as it went in early stages towards using this type of energy, especially solar energy, to provide most of its needs in a strategic step to achieve sustainable development and preserving the environment.
The number of large solar power plants operating in the country reached four stations in addition to the distributed solar energy projects represented in the “Al Dhafra Station for Solar PVs – 1584 megawatts” and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex – 5000 megawatts “operated in the complex 2860 megawatts using solar panels PVs and concentrated solar energy “and the Abu Dhabi Solar Station – 935 MW and Abu Dhabi Solar Energy Station – 100 megawatts”, in addition to distributed solar energy projects – more than 700 megawatts, the most important of which is the Dubai Shams Program.
The leadership of the UAE is highlighting in developing an advanced infrastructure to transport and distribute energy in a way that supports regional and global integration and enhances energy security to become a global model in the transformation towards a more sustainable future. These projects confirm the UAE’s commitment to investing in renewable energy infrastructure and achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
