Two -thirds of the residents of Santorini leave the island in light of the continuation of earthquakes

Today, Wednesday, two thirds of Santorini Island, which numbered 16,000 people, left to the Greek mainland in light of the continued shocks that have struck the country for the past 13 days.
“ART News” news channel said that the police intensified their patrols in the air -free streets for fear of looting.
The Ministry of Civil Protection has increased the number of emergency services in the affected islands, Santorini, Iosh, Amege and Anafi.
Government spokesman Pavlos Marinikais said that firefighters, rescue workers and search dogs are on the ground, as is the case with electricity companies employees that can occupy large generators in the event of an electrical interruption after a strong earthquake.
The earthquakes continued from, on Tuesday evening, at intermittent periods ranging from a minute and 15 minutes.
