His Excellency Essam Kazem, Executive Director of the Dubai Tourism and Trade Marketing Foundation, pointed out in a press interview on the sidelines of the “Arab Travel Market” that started today in Dubai, that Dubai is witnessing remarkable growth in the tourism movement, as the emirate received about 18.73 million international tourists during 2024, achieving 9% growth compared to the previous year, pointing out that growth continues during the first quarter of this year by 3% compared to In the same period this year.
He stressed that the strong performance reflects the continuous efforts to attract visitors from various global markets, with a focus on enhancing the experience of tourists and increasing the repetition of their visits to the emirate.
Kazem explained that Dubai continues to study opportunities in the new markets, pointing to the presence of committees that study all markets and discuss developing opportunities.
He added that promotional campaigns are designed according to the target seasons and groups, whether families during school leave or travel seekers in the less crowded periods, for example.
Kazem stressed that all the developments in the tourist markets in the region support and increase the opportunities for growth in the surrounding markets.
He explained that the focus in Dubai is no longer focused only on increasing the number of tourists, but also to raise the level of service to ensure the frequency of visits.
He stressed that any decline in the service may lead to the loss of the tourist, which makes cooperation with local partners is very important.
He stressed the importance of repeating the visit as a major indication of Dubai’s success as a tourist destination, pointing out that about 25% of tourists visit Dubai at least twice a year, which is the percentage of the highest globally.
He stressed the importance of visa facilities such as a five -year visa, which contributes greatly to strengthening this trend and increasing the rates of frequency of visits.
In the context of developing tourism infrastructure, Kazem pointed out that the construction of the new airport in the Expo and the new exhibition headquarters, which will contribute to enhancing Dubai’s ability to host major conferences and exhibitions.
He also pointed to the focus on the development of the Jabal Ali area, which is witnessing an increasing momentum in the demand for hotels and tourism services.
