UAE and Japan will continue the economic partnership negotiations at the end of 2025

Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al -Zyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, confirmed that the negotiations of the comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the UAE and Japan will be completed before the end of this year 2025.

His Excellency said, in a statement to the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, that negotiating the terms of the agreement reflects the keenness of the two friendly countries to enhance economic cooperation and open new horizons for development partnership, in a way that contributes to supporting economic prosperity, and creating more opportunities for business community in the two countries.

He pointed out that the UAE is the first commercial partner of Japan in the Arab world in terms of exports and imports, as the country acquires about 37% of the total Japanese exports to the Arab countries, while Japan comes among the ten most important commercial partners of the UAE.

It is noteworthy that in September 2024, the UAE and Japan announced the start of talks to reach a comprehensive economic partnership agreement, with the aim of upgrading trade and investment relations between the two countries to new levels of development cooperation.
