The UAE is continuing its development partnerships and promoting world peace

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, discussed with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, yesterday, various aspects of cooperation and joint work to enhance the strategic partnership that brings together the two countries and achieve its goals at all levels, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of common interest.

This came during the talks session held by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and President Vladimir Putin, in the Kremlin, as part of his official visit to Russia. At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness expressed his wishes that 2026 would be a year of development and progress in Russia and prosperity and development of Emirati-Russian relations.

During the session, His Highness and the Russian President reviewed the path of cooperation relations and opportunities for their development, especially in the economic, trade, investment, technology and space fields, in addition to energy and other aspects that represent development priorities for the two countries, based on their mutual keenness to expand the horizons of their strategic partnership at various levels.

His Highness the President and the Russian President also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern. In this context, His Highness affirmed the UAE’s approach to working to consolidate the causes of peace and stability in the world, and its belief in the importance of dialogue and peaceful solutions to address various disputes and conflicts at the regional and global levels.

His Highness and the Russian President reviewed developments in the situation in the Middle East region, stressing the need to intensify work in order to find a clear horizon for a just and comprehensive peace that is based on the “two-state solution” and guarantees stability and security for all.

His Highness the President of the State said that the UAE-Russian relations are based on solid foundations of mutual trust and respect and are based on constructive cooperation and joint work extending to more than five decades. His Highness stressed the UAE’s vision towards building effective development partnerships with various countries of the world and enhancing international cooperation in dealing with common global challenges in order to achieve sustainable development and prosperity for all the peoples of the world.

In this context, His Highness pointed out that the services and investment trade agreement, which was signed by the UAE and Russia last August, in addition to the economic partnership agreement between the UAE and the Eurasian Economic Union, which the two sides signed last June, will contribute to enhancing investment and trade flows between the two sides and support sustainable development, and will have important results in the course of economic relations, for the good of all.

His Highness the President also renewed his thanks and appreciation to President Vladimir Putin for facilitating the mediation processes carried out by the UAE for the exchange of prisoners between his country and Ukraine, expressing His Highness’s pride in working together in this humanitarian aspect, stressing the UAE’s readiness to support all endeavors in this regard.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said, in a blog post on the “X” platform, yesterday: “Today in Moscow, I discussed with His Excellency President Vladimir Putin the extended strategic partnership relations between the UAE and Russia and joint work to strengthen them, especially in areas that support joint development, most notably innovation, energy, sustainability, space, culture, and others.”

His Highness added: “The UAE will continue to advance its development partnerships for the good of its people and the peoples of the world, and to support everything that will enhance regional and global peace and settle disputes through dialogue for the benefit of all.”

For his part, President Vladimir Putin welcomed His Highness the Head of State to Russia, expressing his thanks and appreciation for the UAE hosting the tripartite talks that included the Russian Federation, the Republic of Ukraine and the United States to discuss finding diplomatic solutions to the Ukrainian crisis. He also thanked His Highness for the UAE’s continued mediation efforts that resulted in the successful exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine.

The Russian President hosted a banquet in honor of His Highness and the accompanying delegation.

An official reception ceremony was held for His Highness the President of the State upon the arrival of his motorcade to the Kremlin, yesterday, where he was received by the Russian President and the national anthem was played for both the UAE and Russia, while a group of horsemen and a group of honor guards lined up to welcome His Highness.

His Highness the President left Moscow at a later time, and a squadron of military aircraft accompanied His Highness’s plane as he left Russian airspace at the conclusion of his official visit.
