3 dead and 7 missing from the sinking of a fishing ship off the South Korea coast

South Korean officials said that a fishing ship drowned in the water off the southern coast of South Korea early Sunday morning, killing 3 people and disappearing 7 others.
The disappearance of the ship, which weighs 139 tons, was reported with 14 crew members at 1.41 am yesterday, Saturday, about 17 km east of the island of Hapik.
Coast Guard ships and other fishing boats have recovered 7 crew, 3 South Koreans and 4 foreigners, but the three South Koreans died, including the 66 -year -old captain.

Investigation

The four survivors, Indonesian and Vietnamian, appeared signs of low body temperature, and are scheduled to be treated in a hospital in the nearby town of “Johong”.
5 of those who were rescued at the beginning, including the captain, were found on a Najat boat; While the other South Koreans were found, drifting without survival jackets.
One of the foreign sailors said that the ship was overturned by the winds and waves, but the authorities are expected to conduct an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The Coast Guard has deployed 23 ships and 8 aircraft, along with support from other agencies and fishing ships, in an attempt to find missing crew members; They are 5 South Koreans, Indonesian and Vietnamese.
