UNRWA: 40 thousand Palestinians were forced to leave their homes in the West Bank

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) announced today, Saturday, that more than 40,000 Palestinians were forced to leave their homes in the occupied West Bank. Philip Lazarini, UNRWA Commissioner -General, said during the Munich Security Conference 2025, that the agency’s financial situation is bad and there is no clarity on the future. He pointed out that there is no other international agency capable of providing the services provided by UNRWA, stressing that the agency can play a role in a comprehensive political solution in the Middle East. Earlier, the UN agency revealed that its teams provided food aid to more than 1.2 million people, since the ceasefire in Gaza began. She pointed out in a post on her official page on the & quot; X & quot, yesterday morning, Thursday, to reopen 10 shelters for the displaced families (7 in Gaza City, and 3 in the northern Gaza Strip). UNRWA pointed out that the teams managed to repair a water well in Jabalia, which now provides safe drinking water for about 100,000 people. The UN agency confirmed that it is the only party that has the ability and infrastructure necessary to provide aid of this size throughout the Gaza Strip. The World Food Program said that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is still risky, and that the war left more than two million people who depend entirely on food aid, without shelter, and without any income. The joint mediation efforts made by Egypt, in cooperation with Qatar and the United States, have succeeded in reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of prisoners and detainees, who entered into force since January 19 & nbsp;
