At least 48 killed by the collapse of a gold mine in Mali

At least 48 people were killed on Saturday in the collapse of an unlicensed gold mine for excavation in western Mali, according to several local sources.
A local police source said, “The death toll at 18:00 today (Saturday) was 48 people killed by the collapse,” a local police source said.

Rescue teams and volunteers have previously recovered at least 78 dead bodies and more than 160 survivors of an abandoned gold mine in South Africa, where they suffered for more than two months during a confrontation with the authorities that demanded them to surrender to the police because of illegal mining.
A disaster criticism of the government’s decision in South Africa was attempted to “remove them by force” by cutting food and other supplies for a period of time from them.
