The Ministry of Finance launches a specialized certificate in accounting standards to enhance financial competencies

Dubai, February 18 / WAM / The Ministry of Finance launched a certificate of international accounting standards for the public sector “IPSAS”, in partnership with the Association of Accredited Legal Accountants “ACCA”, through a training program in Dubai during the period from 17 to 21 February, in the presence of employees of ministries and federal authorities, Including financial managers, heads of departments specialized in finance and accounting, and accountants.
The launch of this certificate comes according to a press release issued today, within the framework of the project of building the financial and accounting capabilities of financial employees in the federal government, within the system of partnership and government integration, and the ministry’s keenness to enhance strategic partnerships that contribute to achieving global leadership in public finance, and in commitment to the application of international best practices In enhancing financial competencies.

The launch of the certificate aims to meet the needs of specialists in the financial and accounting fields at the level of the federal government, by developing their skills and enhancing their analytical and technical capabilities and dealing with complex accounting challenges, and ensuring compliance with global standards in preparing financial statements and accounting policies, as it aims to rehabilitate and graduate 100 government specialists in the government Federation during the year 2025.
His Excellency Maryam Mohamed Al -Amiri, the assistant agent for the government financial management sector in the Ministry of Finance, said that the launch of the International Accounting Standards Certificate for the Public Sector, in partnership with the Association of accredited legal accountants, reflects the Ministry of Finance’s commitment to enhancing financial competence and raising the level of transparency in preparing government financial reports.

This initiative comes within our ongoing efforts to support the shift towards international accounting standards and enhance financial governance, in a manner that ensures the optimal use of government resources and contributes to achieving financial sustainability, and the rehabilitation of financial cadres in the federal government according to the latest international standards, enhances the readiness of government agencies to keep pace with the rapid economic changes And support its competitiveness at the local and international levels.
This initiative represents a pivotal step, within the project of building financial and accounting capabilities, which was launched by the Ministry of Finance recently, with the aim of providing accountants and financial people in the federal government with the skills necessary to keep pace with global transformations in accounting standards based on entitlement.
The partnership with the Association of Accredited Legal Accountants contributes to enabling government employees to apply international accounting standards in a manner that enhances transparency and financial efficiency, which reflects positively on the quality of financial reports and the accuracy of the data used in decision -making.
It is noteworthy that this workshop comes as part of the partnership note signed by the Ministry of Finance with the Association of Accredited Public Accountants in November 2024, which includes the launch of three specialized certificates during the years 2024 and 2025, namely the certificate of international accounting standards for the public sector, CERTAS, Cert PF, and the sustainability certificate Specialized Financial CERT SF.
