The UAE participates in the third United Nations conference for non -coastal developing countries in Turkmenistan

Awza – Turkmenistan on August 5 / WAM / His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Special Envoy of His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Turkmenistan, headed the UAE’s delegation participating in the third United Nations conference concerned with non -coastal developing countries.
His Excellency stressed that the participation of the UAE in the conference, whose work was launched today in the coastal area of Awza, and continues until August 8, comes within its fixed approach in supporting global development efforts, and emphasizes the UAE’s commitment to support international efforts to enhance sustainable development, achieve regional economic integration, and provide advanced infrastructure that contributes to enabling countries to overcome geographical challenges and achieve prosperity For its people, expressing their aspiration through the conference to build effective partnerships, exchange experiences, and open new horizons for investment and joint growth.
The UN conference, which is organized every ten years, is held with the aim of highlighting the development challenges facing non -coastal developing countries, with a population of about 570 million, and discusses ways to enhance international partnerships and smart investments, facilitate freedom of transport, and create more flexible and efficient trade corridors.
The conference will discuss the “Awaza Work Program for the period 2024-2034”, which was approved by the United Nations General Assembly and is based on five main axes, namely the structural transformation, infrastructure and communication, facilitation of trade, regional integration, resilience building, supported by five strategic initiatives that include the establishment of a global facility for investment in infrastructure, regional agricultural research centers, and a high -level committee On the freedom of crossing, and initiatives to enhance digital communication, as well as a dedicated business program within the World Trade Organization.
Participation embodies the UAE’s keenness to contribute to the active in international forums, and to enhance its role as a reliable partner in advancing development at the global level.
On the sidelines of the conference, His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei held a series of bilateral meetings that included the meeting of His Excellency Rashid Miraidov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and His Excellency Abdel Qader Uraloglu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure in the Turkish Republic, where ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of energy, infrastructure and transport were discussed, in a way that serves common interests.
