37.1 billion dirhams in the country’s hotel revenues in the first 10 months of 2024

Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy, Chairman of the Emirates Tourism Council, stressed that the tourism sector in the country continues to achieve positive results in light of the forward -looking vision of the wise leadership, noting that the revenues of hotel establishments in the country reached during the period from January to October from 2024 towards 37.1 billion dirhams, a growth rate of 4% compared to the same period in the year 2023, while the rate of hotel occupancy during the mentioned period reached approximately 78%, by a percentage. Growth reached 2.7% compared to the same period in the year 2023.

He said that these indicators reflect the increasing growth of Emirati tourism in various activities and sectors, and support access to the target of the national tourism strategy 2031, aimed at raising the contribution of the tourism sector to the state’s gross domestic product to 450 billion dirhams by the next decade, in line with the vision of “We UAE 2031 “.

He expected this sector to witness further growth during the current year, in light of the innovative tourism projects taking place in the state, and the initiatives that they are working on implementing.

This came during the presidency of the first meeting of the year 2025 of the Emirates Tourism Council, which includes in its membership the heads and directors of all local tourism bodies in the country; Where the council discussed the outputs of the fifth edition of the campaign “the most beautiful winter in the world” and its vital role in promoting the competitiveness of the UAE’s position as a leading global tourist destination.

Various tourism initiatives and projects

The Council also discussed a set of various tourism initiatives and projects that it seeks to implement during the current year, which would enhance the growth of the tourism sector in the country.

Abdullah bin Touq stressed the continuation of work and enhancing joint cooperation with the relevant tourist bodies and bodies inside and outside the country, to implement tourism initiatives that serve the national targets of the tourism sector, especially with the choice of Al Ain as the capital of Gulf tourism during the year 2025, which supports the strengthening of the UAE’s position as a leading global destination At the regional and global levels.

Participants at the meeting reviewed the activities and marketing programs that will be worked on in light of the selection of the eye as the capital of Gulf tourism for the year 2025, which aims to highlight the distinguished tourist attractions that the city enjoys, as well as encouraging inter -tourism between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and discussed the latest developments in the tourist path project Al -Kubra, where its first phase, which includes five tourist paths across the seven emirates, has been completed to enhance tourism experiences Various for visitors and residents in the country, especially environmental and cultural tourism, adventure tourism, festivals and events.

The Council discussed the UAE’s participation in events, conferences and meetings at the regional and international levels during the current year, and its role in enhancing the prospects for tourism cooperation with many countries and organizations worldwide, and exchange the best experiences and practices in this regard.
