Dr. Ahmed Nabil Abdel -Fattah, a specialist in internal diseases, stressed that fasting is an integrated educational process through which the soul is raised and refined, but some people increase tension and nervousness during the period of fasting the holy month and this may be normal for several reasons, the most important of which are: hunger and low blood sugar sometimes where blood sugar (glucose) blood is a direct cause of tension and hunger, as well as thirst and lack of water and fluids in the body where water is about 7% The overall brain formation, and when dryness occurs during the days of fasting, it may lead to some disorder in the function of the brain (the brain), and nervousness and tension may be in the fasting period, especially in the early days of the holy month, not only due to hunger or thirst, but it may also be the result of interruption from stimuli such as: tea, coffee or smoking, it is more like the symptoms of nicotine and caffeine withdrawal from the body. Work and life also are among the reasons for the nervousness of fasting, which rise in its frequency with the passage of hours of fasting and the more we are approaching the breakfast time, which may cause many problems and may affect fasting itself. What do we do to limit the nervousness and tension during the day in Ramadan?!

Food is the disease and the medicine: You must refrain from eating salty foods in the breakfast and suhoor meal, especially the suhoor meal. It should contain an appropriate amount of proteins, healthy fats and fiber (dairy products-eggs of vegetables-fruits-whole wheat bread-oats-rice-nuts-ophkado salmon) while reducing sugars and pickles.

Lack of fluids, dehydration, and a feeling of thirst may lead to a feeling of nervousness, stress and fatigue. The water must be drunk regularly between breakfast and suhoor every hour or two, taking into account not to drink a large amount before suhoor, which leads to frequent urination at night and a feeling of thirst during the day, and natural juices must also be eaten without sugar or fresh fruits if possible to reduce the feeling of thirst during the day in Ramadan.

Refraining from smoking during the day in Ramadan is one of the most prominent causes of nervousness and tension among smokers, so it is advised to gradually reduce or quit smoking before the holy month and reduce smoking after breakfast or quit this bad habit and replace it with other activities that reduce the feeling of tension such as: exercise and other different physical activities. The pressures and tension, so it is advised to exercise in moderation in the holy month and the most appropriate times before breakfast at the same temperature, as well as after ten in the evening until midnight.

Getting enough sleep: many people suffer from sleep disturbance in Ramadan, and this may be reflected in their performance the next day with increased tension, nervousness, a sense of fatigue, fatigue and ease of emotion on the simplest matters, so ensuring a sufficient number of hours of the most prominent ways to overcome tension and nervousness during fasting, as sleep enhances the individual’s ability to deal with stress and stress and increases his energy and focus.

And the most important solutions in preparing the soul for the Holy Month and dealing with it as an exceptional and unique spiritual state that enhances your proximity to God and transcends your personal behavior and raises you from nervousness and excitement in the month of Ramadan is a valuable opportunity to control the soul and get it accustomed to tranquility, calmness and love of others and their absorption and not the opposite such as nervousness, tension and unjustified emotion, which may lead to many problems, the most important of which is the corruption of fasting and the purpose of it. Whoever remembers God, reads the Qur’an and supplicates the supplication and reverence, has a great impact on solving problems and relieving tension, nervousness and anxiety.
