Today, Monday, President Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, arrived in Riyadh on an official visit to the Kingdom.
The visit of the Lebanese President to the Kingdom and its choice to be his first external destination since his assumption of the leadership of Lebanon, the Lebanese leadership appreciation for the Kingdom’s position, weight and pivotal role at the regional and international levels.

It also comes and ensuring consultation with the wise leadership – may God protect it – about the developments of events and topics of common concern.
The importance of the Lebanese President’s visit to the Kingdom and his meeting with His Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect him – is coinciding with the political and security developments in the region in general, and Lebanon in particular.
What requires consultation and coordination of efforts between the two brotherly countries in a way that enhances the security and stability of the region, and achieves the hopes and aspirations of the brotherly Lebanese people in stability, prosperity and prosperity.

Saudi -Lebanese relations

The Lebanese President’s visit to the Kingdom is a new start for Saudi -Lebanese relations, as part of his desire to enable the state to extend its sovereignty and exercise its full powers in Lebanon.
This corresponds to the Kingdom’s vision of the region, which is based on supporting the stability of its countries as a requirement for the launch of economic and investment cooperation and joint work.
The Lebanese leadership shows its constant appreciation for the Kingdom’s positions towards Lebanon, and from this standpoint the choice of the Lebanese President of the Kingdom came to be his first destination in his external visits, in order to believe in its historical role in supporting Lebanon, and an affirmation of the depth of Lebanon Arab as a basis for its relations with its regional surroundings.

Saudi Arabia’s support for the Lebanese people

The Kingdom affirmed its standing alongside Lebanon and its brotherly people, and expressed its optimism about the ability of the President of the Lebanese Republic to start the necessary reforms to enhance the security, stability and unity of Lebanon.
The Kingdom also stressed the need to adhere to the ceasefire agreement, including the full withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from Lebanese territory, the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701, and relevant international resolutions, and expressed their optimism that the Lebanese leadership joined to work seriously to enhance Lebanon’s security and sovereignty, and to preserve its institutions and gains.
The Kingdom is optimistic about the future of Lebanon in light of the reformist approach adopted by the President of the Lebanese Republic, in light of the application of the necessary reforms will enhance the confidence of Lebanon’s partners, and give way to restore its natural position in its Arab and international surroundings.

Supporting the security and stability of Lebanon

The Kingdom has historical efforts in supporting Lebanon’s security and stability, as it contributed effectively to ending the 15 -year -old Lebanese war.
This is through its patronage and hosting of the meetings of the Lebanese Parliament in the year 1989 AD in the city of Taif, which witnessed the signing of the historic “Taif Agreement”, which is one of the gains of the Kingdom’s foreign policy.
As an extension of its humanitarian support for the Lebanese people, the Kingdom went an air bridge that represents the first stage of Saudi aid to Lebanon on October 13, 2024 AD, the sending of 27 aircraft carrying relief assistance that includes food, shelter and medical materials, in effect for the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister -may God protect them -.
On December 4, 2024 AD, the Kingdom also launched the second phase of Saudi aid to Lebanon, targeting the implementation of a number of food, shelter and health projects, to contribute to alleviating the suffering of the affected and displaced people from the Lebanese people.
