China will start tomorrow’s customs duties in response to American tariff
Since his return to the White House in January, the US President announced the imposition of customs duties on his main commercial partners, including China, Canada and Mexico, considering that its cooperation in the field of fighting irregular migration and drugs, especially Fintanel, is insufficient.
Mutual fees
After imposing 10% customs duties on all incoming Chinese goods, Trump decided on March 3 to increase it to 20%, and China immediately expressed its “great dissatisfaction” and announced the imposition of similar fees on American agricultural products as of the two.
The percentage of these fees is 15 % on chicken, wheat, corn and cotton products received to China, and 10 % on other American goods such as white corn, soy, beef, marine products, fruits, vegetables and milk derivatives.
Experts believe that this Chinese response targets the electoral base for the Republican billionaire, while keeping it moderate to give way to the possibility of concluding a trade agreement.
These commercial tensions between China and the United States exacerbate the difficulties facing the Chinese authorities in order to achieve the stability of the economy that is experiencing a slowdown in consumption and a crisis in the real estate sector and the high unemployment rate among young people.
It is expected that the customs duties decided by Washington will constitute a severe blow to Chinese exports, which contributed greatly to the growth of the Asian giant last year, and experts believe that the consequences of American measures may not appear immediately.
