The Egyptian security services released, this morning, the popular singer Saad Al -Saghir, after spending a 6 -month imprisonment in the case of drug use, after making sure that there are no other cases registered against him.

The facts of the case date back to last October, when the security services arrested Saad Al -Saghir inside Cairo International Airport while returning from an Arab country.
During the inspection, the authorities found electronic cigarettes containing narcotic substances inside his bags, and by examining his sample, it was proven that he used these materials, according to the report of the criminal laboratory.
Last December, the Cairo Criminal Court sentenced him to 3 years imprisonment with work, but the defense agency resumed the ruling, requesting to reduce the punishment.
After studying the circumstances of the case, the court decided to accept the appeal, and the penalty was reduced to only 6 months imprisonment, based on Article 17 of the Penal Code that allows the penalty to be broken if the court sees alleviations.

After his release, his son Mohamed Saad Al -Saghir said, in press statements, that his father is in good health and will spend the month of Ramadan among his family and friends, expressing his happiness for his return.
He added that the family will hold a special celebration in the Shubra area to receive it, noting that his father learned an important lesson from this harsh experience.
