Chancellor Amal Ammar discusses with the Jordanian Minister of Social Development to enhance cooperation in the areas of women’s empowerment

The President of the National Council for Women, Chancellor Amal Ammar, discussed with Wafaa Bani Mustafa, Minister of Social Development, the ways to enhance joint cooperation and exchange experiences in the field of women’s empowerment, on the sidelines of her participation in the activities of the 69th session of the United Nations Women’s Status Committee (CSW69), held during the month of March. Egypt has taken important steps to enhance the rights of women and support their participation in various fields, as the period of maternity leave has increased to four months, and the seal of gender equality was launched to enhance a fair work environment, in addition to providing advanced insurance services that support women, noting that the percentage of women’s representation in corporate management councils and increasing the women’s quota in the Egyptian parliament increased to 27%, which reflects the state’s interest in enabling them politically and economically. The Jordanian Minister reviewed the Kingdom’s efforts in the field of empowering women, noting that the proposal to increase the situation leave to 70 days in the private sector, and the establishment of the Children’s Insurance Fund within companies, from which hundreds of thousands of Jordanian women have benefited from while obtaining the status leave. Many Jordanian companies join the principles of United Nations women’s empowerment & quot; weps & quot; in addition to Jordan joining the Women’s Development Organization for Islamic Cooperation Countries, as part of their endeavor to enhance women’s rights and achieve equal opportunities in various sectors.
