المملكة: Saudi architecture is an opportunity to transform the cities of the Kingdom into economic engines
During their talk to Al -Youm, the specialists indicated that the initiative of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to launch the map of Saudi architecture aims to enhance the cultural identity of Saudi cities, and to achieve sustainable development through the balance between social, economic and environmental dimensions
In this context, the associate professor in the Department of Urban Planning at King Saud University, Dr. Walid Al -Zamil, praised this initiative, stressing that it contributes to the consolidation of the relative values of Saudi cities, which are rooted in community participation throughout history in forming the urban structure.
He added that the re -devotion of this concept contributes to building a renewed cultural identity that is in line with modern global trends, which aim to transform cities from mere residential stability into economic engines that provide job opportunities and enhance environmental sustainability.

He pointed out that understanding the cultural and social dimensions that contributed to the formation of the urban environment creates “added value” or “the distinctive economic brand” for every Saudi city.
Al -Zamil added: “The inspiration of the past and the present to anticipate the future allows the Kingdom the opportunity to convert its cities into international economic centers, while preserving cultural originality and urban heritage. This initiative is in achieving the goals of the national vision 2030, and supports sustainable development efforts and promoting the quality of life. ”
