European condemnation .. Trump imposes customs duties on imported cars
US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday the imposition of customs duties by 25% on all cars and small non -manufactured trucks on American soil, pointing out that the knowledge will enter into force on April 2.
“What we will do is to impose customs duties by 25 %on all non -manufactured cars in the United States, and that manufactured in the United States will not be imposed on them,” Trump said in a statement to White House reporters on Wednesday.
Customs duties goals
Trump made customs duties the cornerstone of his economic, social and even diplomatic policy.
Customs duties are a comprehensive weapon that can at the same time revive industries in the United States, reduce trade deficit, solve budget deficit, enhance job opportunities, and establish a strong strong balance for Washington on the international scene.
Since his return to the presidency last January, Trump has imposed additional customs duties on US imports from Canada, Mexico and China, in addition to 25% fees on steel and aluminum.
European regret and negotiating solutions
The European Union rushed to comment on the step of the White House master.
European Commission President Ursula von der Line condemned the decision, and said that the European Union is deeply regretted by the US decision.
She added in a statement: “I am very sorry for the American decision,” and the European Union will continue to search for negotiating solutions with the United States.
She described these drawings as “bad for business, and the worst for consumers in the United States and the European Union,” she added: “As a major commercial power and a strong community of 27 member states, we will work together to protect our workers, companies and consumers throughout the European Union.”
She noted that Trump’s recent announcement and other measures that the United States intends to take in the coming days will be evaluated now.

A direct attack on Canada
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney angrily responded to US President Donald Trump’s decision to impose customs duties on all his country’s imports, including those manufactured in Canada, describing the move as a direct attack on Canada.
“We will defend our workers, we will defend our companies, we will defend our country,” Carney said.
He added that these 25% customs duties “will harm us, but with our solidarity during this period, we will come out stronger.”
