German Foreign Minister Analina Perbuk announced that Germany will provide aid to Sudan worth 125 million euros, on the eve of an international conference on the situation in the country, coinciding with the completion of the war in its second year.

Germany’s aid to Sudan

The war erupted between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese Army in mid -April 2023, and the bloody conflict led to the sharing of the two parties field control, with the army caught in Khartoum and areas in the north and the east.
The war resulted in the killing of tens of thousands and the displacement of more than 13 million people, some of them to neighboring countries, and also caused a humanitarian crisis that is the worst in modern history, according to the United Nations and the African Union.
On Tuesday, London will host an international conference on the situation in Sudan, which will participate in Britain, Germany, France, the European Union and the African Union, and the ministry said that the Sudanese army and rapid support forces were not willing to come to the negotiating table.

“Death is a permanent fact in large parts of Sudan,” describing the conflict there as “the largest human catastrophe of our time.”
She pointed out that “the focus in London will focus on working with our African partners to determine the options of human access without restrictions and protect the civilian population and reach a political solution to this bloody conflict.”
Perbook emphasized that the Gulf states will be among the actress at the meeting, as she called on her to use their influence to create humanitarian corridors, and added that “it is only joint international pressure that will persuade the parties to the conflict in the end to sit at the negotiating table.”
