Colombia declares a healthy emergency due to yellow fever

The Colombian government announced a health emergency at the country’s late level yesterday, due to the increase in cases of yellow fever. Health Minister Jermo Alfonso Kharamello said: “The outbreak of the disease caused 74 cases of injury and 34 deaths, since the beginning of 2024.”

It is noteworthy that yellow fever is a viral disease that is transmitted by bites of mosquitoes.
