Russia expels the Ukrainian forces from one of its strongholds in Kursk

Officials said today, Saturday, that Russia expelled the Ukrainian forces from one of its last strong strongholds in the Kursk region, and the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that its forces had taken control of the village of Olishia on the border with Ukraine.
In a statement, the ministry announced that “units of the” Northern Military Group “liberated the village of Olisenia in the Kursk region during active offensive operations.

Continuous fighting

The TASS News Agency reported that Russia is still fighting to remove the Ukrainian forces from the village of Journal, about 11 km south of Olishia.
The agency quoted the Russian security services as saying, “The Russian army has not yet been able to expel the Ukrainian armed forces from Journal to completely liberate the Kursk region, and fierce battles are taking place in the town.”
