5.23 trillion dirhams the size of the foreign trade of the Emirates in 2024

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, confirmed that from the beginning the UAE has chosen the approach of openness, building bridges, freedom of trade, money movement and people’s movement, to become a bridge between East and West, and a global economic center.

His Highness said in a post on his account on the X platform: “In a world that witnesses major economic and commercial challenges … from the beginning the UAE has chosen the approach to openness … and building bridges … and the freedom of trade movement, the movement of money and the movement of people … to become a bridge between East and West … and a global economic center.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum added: “According to the latest report of the World Trade Organization, it was published a few days ago: The volume of foreign trade of the Emirates reached 5.23 trillion dirhams in 2024 with a trade surplus exceeding 490 billion dirhams … so that the state is one of the races of the international trade movement.”

His Highness pointed out, “The UAE issued services worth 650 billion dirhams in 2024 … of which 191 billion dirhams are digital services that represented 30% of the total services exports … The state also issued goods of 2.2 trillion dirhams in 2024 a growth of 6% from the previous year.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum explained: “The UAE alone exports 41% of the total commodity exports in the Middle East … which makes it the main axis and the largest commercial center in the region.”

His Highness concluded, “Praise be to God, the completion will continue … and with the follow -up of my brother, the head of state, we will maintain the gains … and strengthen them … and by preserving our approach to openness, liberalizing trade and building bridges, growth and leadership will remain our ally, God willing.”
